Johanna Roman

Johanna Roman is the Regional Lead for Latin America and manages research, education, and extension programs in Latin America for the Conflict and Development Foundation. She helps identify research studies and innovative programs that promote development in communities in conflict or recovering from conflict, with particular focus on youth development, food security, and agricultural development programs.  

She manages grants offered to organizations, researchers or students to promote the creation or application of innovations, technologies or approaches that help solve global development problems.

Johanna is a native Spanish speaker and has a B.S. and a Master’s degree in Horticultural Sciences from Texas A&M University. She also has a Master’s degree in Education from Northcentral University focusing on Leadership and Organizational Management. Her studies focused on agricultural development and has managed and backstopped multi-million dollar projects funded by USDA and USAID.

She has also been involved in coffee production and research, and has managed many faculty abroad programs as well as student internship and service programs in Latin America.
